Fossilised Palm Root

Fossilised Sumatran palm root.The contrasting earthy tones of palm root makes for a very distinctive uncommon gemstone. These are formed when the root ball of the Palm is buried in siliceous volcanic ash and preserved the palm root in stone. Colours and patterns vary depending on the location the stone was extracted from.
